Izzy, who’s almost one year old, is an attention seeker. When she’s bored, she can’t help but seek attention from someone, so she’s always busy biting feet or hands, or jumping around 😅
Scolding her only has the opposite effect, as she’ll be happy to have someone’s attention. Instead, I ignore her, don’t laugh or scold, and wait until she calms down and sits quietly before playing with her or giving her attention. She was satisfied with the attention and remainedcalm 🥰
I always interact with her calmly, but my daughter seems to think of her as a sibling, so she bites and jumps on her 😅Dogs are very smart and can read people well, so they change their behavior based on how people react. I told my daughter not to laugh, look, or scold, but to turn her back and leave immediately.
Attention-seeking dogs aren’t ‘bad dogs,’ they just don’t know the right way. If your dog seems like an attention seeker, ‘ignoring’ them is very effective.
When they calm down, mark it with a ‘Yes’ and give them attention. This is the greatest reward.Attention-seeking dogs really love people and are cute 🤭. Tomorrow, my baby Izzy will leave us, and we’ll miss her already 🥲
