Toilet Training Potty training for puppiestakes at least 4 weeks inyour home. First, help your puppy reduce accidents by assisting themin the crate or puppy pan when you’re away or not watchingthem (limit their space). When you take them to theliving room, take them to thetoilet first.
Puppies can’t find their wayback to the toilet from adistance, so guide them tothe toilet door to teach themthe way.
Potty training has many steps:
1. The dog learns thelocation of the toilet.
2. Take them to the toiletevery 30-40 minutes, and they’ll learn to go there.
3. They’ll learn to go to thetoilet by themselves and do number 2 💩 but still many accidents for wee wee.
4. They might still haveaccidents in the house, butthey’ll learn to go to the toilet sometimes.
5. Accidents will decrease, but they’ll still happen.
6. Eventually, they’ll almostnever have accidents.
Chacha, is currently at step 3. I take him to the toilet every30-40 minutes to reduce accidents. Even if he can’t do it yet, he’ll gradually learn, and I’ll praisehim when he does.
It’s important not to rush the process. ♥️ I’m also teachinghim the command “toilet,” and now he understands.
