Most people are teaching
a dog to “sit” is the first,
but did you know that
there are levels to this
command as well?
If your dog can sit on
command 90%, let’s
move on to the next level
of training to increase the
duration of their sitting.
This is easy. Just keep
saying ‘Yes” or good boy”
and giving rewards while
they’re sitting.
Then, say ‘Free’ or ‘Finish’
and reward them while
moving around together
with you.
Let’s aim for 5 seconds
at first, and gradually
increase the time.
Ideally, they should be able
to sit and wait for longer
periods of time, when guests
arrive. We still have a long
way to go, but we’ll do it
little by little ππ
There’s still room for
level-ups in sit training.
If you’ve mastered level 2,
let’s move on to level 3.
